About Twinning

Twinning is:
  • A partnership between Canadian provinces and other Western Hemisphere countries to work towards a model for Twinning 2020 for WAGGGS

We are twinned with the Peru Girl Scouts:

  • There were 2,700 members in 2012
  • The branches of the Peru Girl Scouts are Sunflowers, Brownies, Light Guides and Sun Guides
  • Girl Scouting is run out of the schools and sometimes includes boys
  • Most of their weekly unit meetings happen on Saturdays
  • Common foods in Peru are corn, potatoes and guinea pig
  • The official languages of Peru are Spanish, Quechua and Aymara
  • Peru does not recognize daylight savings time
  • The seasons in Peru are opposite of Canada:
    • Summer is from December to February
    • Winter is from May to September
